A VARIETY competition has helped make a dream trip to Uganda possible for a 14-year-old girl from St Teath.

Around 50 teenagers, their families and friends, packed St Thomas Church, Camelford, on Saturday, February 25, for a talent show.

The event was organised by Megan Evans, Year 10 pupil at Sir James Smith's School, Camelford. She has been holding various fundraisers in order to reach her target of £2,000 for her trip to Uganda in three weeks' time with the charity Stand Up for Sanitation (part of Food For Thought).

The show, declared a great success, was compered by Rev Jim Benton-Evans and opened by Jill Lamede the Tintagel Storyteller, which was followed by Dave Ritchie's fabulously funny poems.
