PEOPLE certainly didn’t hide their talent when they entered the new competition tent at this year’s show.

‘Hidden Talents’ was set up by former show secretary Alison Heywood to appeal to a wide range of people, old and young, from the crafty to the greenfingered, the bakers to photographers.

The tent got off to a roaring start with 210 entries displaying a diverse range of creative wares.

Alison said: “It was a great day. We were absolutely delighted in our first year with 210 entries — the creatativity was awesome.”

From 9am on show day to the very end there was a constant stream of visitors to the tent eager to see what was on offer.

Alison said the team behind the Hidden Talents competition are already planning for next year — so watch this space.

She said: “We are already having ideas and plans for next year to make it bigger and better, we want to expand it to include more classes for adults in baking, gardening and needlework. Any suggestions from the community in what classes they like to compete in would be welcomed.”
