A NEW councillor is being co-opted to Holsworthy Town Council this week.
Although a fairly new arrival in the town, Colin Punter will be familiar to many people as a volunteer in the Holsworthy Information Centre and in the British Heart Foundation shop.
Colin comes from West London where he worked for 44 years for the same company as an electrical and mechanical engineer.
When he found himself redundant two years ago Colin and his wife Janet decided to move to North Devon where they had spent many holidays.
Colin’s main hobby is shooting and he is a qualified firearms instructor.
So far he has attended one town council meeting and admits that for him being a councillor will be a steep learning curve, but says he loves Holsworthy with its unique character and wants to do what he can for the community.
