THE South Petherwin Defribilator committee (SPED) was kept busy on Saturday morning with the SPED table-top fundraising day.
The event was well supported with a regular flow of locals and visitors.
Those attending could browse and purchase from the table-top sellers or have a go at winning the raffle with the top prize being a Valentine cake made by Louise Finn.
A number of people commented on the event, including how 'warm and welcoming' it was, along with praise for the project, with comments including 'the defribilator project is a really good idea, let's hope we never need to use it'!
SPED chairman Phil Fox was pleased with the local support, and said: "We had a good turnout. It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages enjoying a cup of tea, home-made cake and a good old chat.
"I would like to thank all those who attended as well as the table-top sellers and the committee. The support for the project makes the preparation and commitment we have for this project worthwhile. It is after all a life-saving service for everyone in the community."
The day raised more than £350.
