A VERY successful table top sale was held recently by Tesco Launceston store in aid of the Cornwall Air Ambulance, at the White Hart Hotel.

One of the organisers and Tesco community champion, Shelley Vanstone said: “We had seen the appeal to raise funds for a new helicopter and decided we would like to try and raise some money to help.

“We decided to hold a table top sale and our colleagues donated bric-a-brac, cakes, jumble and plants.

“The White Hart Hotel kindly let us have the use of the ballroom for free and on the day we raised £498.”

Shelley did not stop there, with her and her team continuing to raise funds for the project.

She continued: “We also put out an appeal on our Facebook page for books and our customers did not disappoint — sales of books have brought the grand total raised to £1,478!

“We are absolutely thrilled with this amount and will be inviting representatives from Cornwall Air Ambulance to the store for a presentation.

“Thanks to everybody for their donations and support.”
