A MAN attempting to swim the entire British coastline has paid visits to North Cornish waters, including Boscastle.

Ross Edgley, the man swimming around Great Britain, has hit a major milestone in his quest to become the first person ever to swim around the UK. After battling jellyfish stings, a disintegrating tongue and extreme chaffing, Ross passed his toughest test to date — completing the south coast leg of his UK swim.

As Ross swam around Land’s End (pictured), the most westerly point in England, he was joined by Andrew Cotton, the big wave surfer, who has gained notoriety and fame for his daredevil surfing stunts.

Ross has also swam in the waters by Boscastle on Wednesday, July 4, and is likely to swim up the North Cornwall coastline to Headland, and then crossing the Bristol channel from there.

Viewers can now watch the fifth and latest episode of the Great British Swim vlog on the Red Bull YouTube channel, which sees Ross taking on the Royal Navy in a drag race and facing off against even more jellyfish on the south coast.

Ross Edgley’s Great British Swim began in Margate on Friday, June 1. He plans to swim the distance of 3,200km without setting foot on land, completing the equivalent of crossing the English Channel every 24 hours.

The 32-year-old’s previous feats include completing a marathon whilst dragging a Mini Cooper and rope climbing the equivalent height of Mount Everest inside 24 hours.
