BUDE Swim Safe site co-ordinator, Bill Williams, and his fantastic team of teachers and staff, have announced that Swim Safe will be back in Bude this summer from July 29 thanks to the generosity and kindness of everyone that supported their fund raising events earlier this year at Rosie’s Kitchen and The Preston Gate pub.
Bill said: “Without the wonderful support of the people of Bude and the surrounding area, those that attended our events and those that gave some sizeable donations, we would not be able to announce that Bude Swim Safe is back and fully funded. We set out to raise £2,500 but the excellent support we have been given has taken us past that figure and we are now on our way to funding 2020.”
Early in 2019, one of the Bude volunteers contacted Waitrose in Holsworthy to ask if Swim Safe could be included in their monthly Community Matters charity collection. In March, Bill attended the store to collect a cheque for £758 for Swim Safe from store customer service manager Angi Thain.
The Swim Safe team has extended thanks to the shoppers of Waitrose in Holsworthy for their kindness in choosing to support the project.
Booking for Swim Safe is available from May 2019, visit Swimsafe.org.uk to find a location that suits you and book a place.
