OVER a 1,000 people visited Launceston Square throughout Saturday (August 31) for the first ever beer festival, organised by Penpont Brewery, of Altarnun.
Having acquired the licence to sell alcohol in the square five weeks previous, the Penpont team have been busy preparing for the day, with 25 cask beers, six craft keg taps, draught cider and imported bottled beers, as well as launching its creation pale ale.
A marquee and fenced area was set up in the square in the morning, and carried on into the evening. Part owner, Joe Thomson, is very pleased with how the festival turned out.
