LIFEBOATS from Port Isaac RNLI were paged at the weekend, to assist in the rescue of two surfers who had become trapped on rocks near Trebarwith Strand.

The coastguard rescue helicopter, Polzeath Coastguard and lifeboats from Padstow Lifeboat, as well as from Port Isaac, also responded to the shout on Saturday, February 11.

Two male surfers had become trapped on the rocks near Trebarwith Strand. Both men were airlifted to safety by the coastguard rescue helicopter, with Port Isaac ILB managing to retrieve one of the surfboards.

It was described as a ‘great multi-agency response’ by Port Isaac RNLI, following the incident.
