A DONATION has been made to Bude Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) to support its ongoing work in the community.

The Bude branch of the Royal Naval Association presented £300 to members of the SLSC, following a recent talk by chairman Adrian (Horace) Parsons.

Adrian gave a presentation and talk on his 1,230-mile bike ride, visiting all the Surf Life Saving Clubs on the English coast, last August.

The ride was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Bude Surf Life Saving Club, formed in 1953, being the oldest club of its type in the northern hemisphere.
