ALMOST 50 people attended the 30th anniversary dinner for the Robert Johns Leukaemia Fund (RJLF), held at the Falcon Hotel, Bude, on Friday, September 6.

"It was more of a get together than trying to raise money," said Bob Johns founder of the charity, in memory of his son. "It was a chance for me to personally thank everyone who has supported the charity. You can't do it without people like that."

The RJLF was formed in 1983 by the Christmas darts tournament team at Week St Mary Hall in memory of Robert Johns, who fought Leukaemia for five long years, but unfortunately lost the battle on September 6, 1983, age 11.
