After two years of not being able to run, this year’s Bude Lifeboat Weekend was back to raise thousands of pounds.

With a fun-packed three days Bude’s crew and volunteers hosted bands, raffles, cake sales, treasure hunts and donations which raised a estimate of £30,000 for Bude lifeboat.

The annual duck race turned into a mass duck rescue with members of the public ensuring no ducks were lost so a big thank you was expressed to the helpful duck rescuers and the Rotary Club for organising. A big crowd lined the cliffs at Summerleaze for the demo of rescues which ended with assisting Crooklets lifeguards with a real tasking and successful rescue.

Bude’s lifeboat operations manager Liam Sharp added: “Thank you to everyone for supporting us this year, making donations and drinking the bar dry!

“Along with all the sponsors and local businesses and a massive thanks to all the crew and fundraisers along with Robin, Mike, Gill for making it all happen.”
