RESUBMITTED plans to extend a food store in Launceston have again received the support of the town council’s planning committee.
The Post previously reported on plans to extend the front of the existing Lidl store, at Hurdon Road.
The extension would accommodate new freezer chambers and bakery preparation area, with a side extension to create a further sales floor area and warehouse space, with associated external works.
The application resubmitted to Cornwall Council also includes a new glazed entrance lobby and installation of full height glazing to the side elevation, and updating the external site surfaces and boundary treatments.
Documents submitted to the council state the proposed exensions would provide an additional 325 square metres.
Launceston Town Council’s planning committee supported the application at its meeting last Thursday — but the decision on the application rests with Cornwall Council.
