SURF Action Bude recently received a cheque for over £200 from Waitrose Okehampton Community Award Scheme.

Surf Action, a registered charity, was established in 2009 to support combat veterans from all theatres of war and their families through surfing. The group's veterans suffer from physical or mental difficulties and can be signposted to appropriate therapies either in house or through third parties.

The charity has just been featured in the documentary series Battle Scarred: Exit Wounds on Channel 5 which looks at the problems some veterans face in adjusting to civilian life including Rich Emerson founder and director.
