POLICE in Newton Abbot have appealed for witnesses after a woman died the day after a collision at the town's Asda supermarket. The incident occurred last Friday shortly after 10.30am.

A 74-year-old woman thought to be from the town was driving a black BMW 318 that struck a parked and unattended Seat Leon. Police said it was believed the driver had become unwell at the wheel and was taken to hospital for treatment.

She was released the next day but died shortly afterwards. Sergeant Nick Bloomfield from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit said: 'Although it is highly probable that the cause of the collision was a medical episode we would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision.'
