THE Sir James Smith’s School Prom ended the Year 11 students’ time at secondary school in super style.

The Camelford students arrived at Bowood Park Golf Club in Lanteglos, dressed to impress and ready to be greeted by school staff, parents and well-wishers before walking down the red carpet. Various modes of transport pulled up ranging from a tractor to a fire engine.

The room was decorated in school colours by prom organisers Heliena McCarten and Sally Mason — plus the help of several other members of school staff.

A lovely meal was followed by an award ceremony, where presentations were made by headteacher Jon Lawrence and head of Year 11 Ed Kirk.

Categories included, ‘Most Likely to be the next Jamie Oliver’ to ‘Most Likely to become Prime Minister’. This followed with a disco, to which the students danced the whole evening away.

Heliena and Sally said: “Special thanks must go to Bowood and their staff, Janice Craddock for the wonderful decorations, Bruallen for the amazing flowers and Sound One for the fantastic disco.”

Afterwards Mr Lawrence thanked all those involved in organising the evening. He said they had ensured that a ‘lovely year group finished off with a lovely prom.’
