THE county of Devon has found a novel way of commemorating HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee with the unveiling of a striking six metre stainless steel sundial at Roadford Lake, near Lifton.

This unique gift to Her Majesty from the people of Devon is sure to become one of the 'must visit' features in the county.

Eric Dancer, Lord-Lieutenant of Devon said: "All those who visit this site from across the world, now and in the future, will be reminded of Her Majesty's 60 years of dedication and commitment to extraordinary public service and this fine county's acknowledgement of that selfless service."
