CHILDREN from?Sunbeams Nursery at North Petherwin Primary School enjoyed a day out to Tamar Otter Park on Wednesday, October 13.
As part of their topic on woodlands and autumn, a group of two to four-year-olds, along with nursery helpers, walked through the park's woodland.
During their outing they encountered Muntjacs, Eagle Owls and otters.
The nursery try to have trips at least once a half term or on a termly basis and in July they enjoyed a trip to the beach.
Nursery worker, Gaby Greene said it was "fantastic, a lovely day."
The children enjoyed walking through the woods in the leaves, hearing the different sounds and using different colours. Orange has been a recent colour which ties in with their autumn studies. They also met a three legged Muntjac called Dasher.
Gaby commented: "It was a brilliant experience all round for the children and it all leads up to experiencing the outside."
On the way back from their walk, the owner of the otter park, John Allen, brought out an Eagle Owl for the children to see and hold.
A wonderful day was had by all, and Gaby added: "The children are still talking about it now."
