MORE than 500 motorcycles and cars took part in this year's London to Land's End Trial, which includes routes near Bude and Holsworthy. The trial has been run by the Motor Cycling Club since 1908 and includes entrants from Holsworthy, Bude and Launceston areas. Various types of vehicle — motor cycles; sidecars; three-wheeled cyclecars and cars of any capacity — embark on the long distance liability trial, which features on and off-road routes at Sutcombe Hill; Cutliffe Lane, Darracott near Hartland and Crackington Haven. The popular event is held over the Easter weekend and recognised by motorcyle enthusiasts across the country. Around 560 entrants negotiated the trial this year, on a dry and sunny weekend. For the full report, and a round-up of the local news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
