PORT Isaac Rowing Club recently held a celebration to honour the club’s 25th anniversary.
The celebrations were held on Sunday, from 12.30pm, on the Platt, and marked 25 years of the launch of the first Pilot Gig Corsair.
A rededication ceremony was held, conducted by the Rev Dr Elizabeth Wild, accompanied by the Port Isaac Chorale.
The gig was showered with champagne by Peter ‘Dasher’ Reveley, who made the Corsair.
Following this, a barbeque, beer and cakes were available for the rest of the afternoon on the Platt, making the celebration a memorable and heart-warming occasion.
The rededication of the Corsair has been a highlight of the year-long celebration of her first launching in Port Isaac.
A spokesman for the rowing club said that everybody was delighted so many significant people from the past, who are linked to the club, came along to join the much enjoyed celebrations.
