ON Saturday, September 10, many local children were presented with certificates and medals at Holsworthy Library after completing their Summer Reading Challenge.
The Summer Reading Challenge was called ‘The Big Friendly Read’ and it had a Roald Dahl theme this year.
Ninety-one children took part with a fantastic 54 finishing the challenge. The challenge involved young people from the Holsworthy area getting involved at their local library and reading six books over the summer holiday period.
Devon County Councillor Barry Parsons presented the finishers with a medal and certificate at the Holsworthy Library.
Young library volunteer, Cloe Westaway, also received a certificate for her work helping out with craft events during the summer.

Sofia Bergman, Lauren Blackman, Sophie Blackman, Ryan Brock, Lewis Chidley, Paige Chidley, Adam Foster, Eleanor Foster, Poppy Freeburn, Charlie Frost, Layla Godfrey, William Harris, Neve Hawking, Betty Hunter, Lilly Hunter, Josh Lui, Ruby-Roshien Mahmud, Riley Mahmud, Abby Potts, Ella Pursey, Lyla Robinson, Emma Rovenska, Jake Shadrick, Jack Tolley, Layla Tolley, Jack Waters, Caitlin Watkins, Connor Weblin, Jazmine Willetts, Ruby Williams and Brodie Wonnacott.
