WHAT a successful and joyous occasion harvest festival in St Breward was this year.

The church, including the porch, was beautifully decorated with flowers, fruit, vegetables and produce of every description.

On Sunday, September 30, the service was particularly well attended, followed by the school on Monday afternoon. The evening followed a short service led by Lorely Stanton, worship leader, and everyone gathered up the offerings which were taken down to the village hall for auctioning.

The supper took up the whole of the length of the hall. After enjoying pasties and a plethora of exceedingly yummy puddings, Paddy McShee conducted an immensely jovial auction. Bidding was as ever brisk, humorous and generous.

The collection in church raised £101 for the RABI. The supper and auction raised £285 for the church.

Thanks were expressed to all who grew, baked, decorated, donated or attended for this important seasonal occasion.
