THE annual harvest auction, organised by the sports and social committee of the Camelford Conservative Club, took place recently at the club.
The auctioneer was Ian Harvey, club treasurer, ably assisted by members of the sports and social committee, Jo Wickett, bar manager, and Paula Boundy.
There was brisk bidding for a wide variety of goods throughout the evening and the amount raised by the auction is in the region of £1,600 to date.
During the evening the sports and social vice chairman Antony Hill presented Thelma White with a bouquet of flowers as a thank you from the Conservative Club for all the baking she has done for the harvest auctions over many years.
Madge Walkey, on behalf of the Camelford committee of Cancer Research UK, gave a comprehensive vote of thanks to all those, particularly Ian Harvey who had helped to make the evening such a success.
The Conservative Club, too, expressed its thanks to everyone including local businesses who kindly donated goods for the auction and all who bid for goods on the evening.
The proceeds of the auction will be shared equally by the Camelford committee of Cancer Research UK and Cornwall Air Ambulance. Cheques will be presented to the two charities at a later date.
