THE wonderful weather on Sunday, October 27 helped everyone enjoy the gymkhana at Trekenner, Lezant.

Despite only nine horses and ponies all together, the day, held at the home of Anne and Roy Sheldrake, went well and spectators and competitors enjoyed a beautifully cooked barbecue and well run tombola.

A total of £235 was raised for Lezant Church, and a donation was given to a Riding for the Disabled Association carriage driving group.

Glebe Veterinary Surgery, Lezant, kindly sponsored the lovely rosettes, and all the riders won at least one.

Many helpers gave up watching the rugby and worked from morning to evening making the day such a success. Anne Sheldrake, organiser, said: “Thank you all!”
