AN EVENT held at Camelford Hall in memory of a local firefighter has raised over £1,000 for the Firefighters Charity.

The team from the Co-op store in Camelford were happy to assist Maureen Pooley, along with her brilliant helpers, with a coffee and cake morning at Camelford Hall to raise money for the Firefighters Charity while remembering Maureen’s son Paul Oulton, who sadly lost his life last year.

It was a successful morning with a raffle, tea and coffee, a cake sale and an appearance from local firefighters and a fire engine from Delabole Community Fire Station.

The Co-op’s member pioneer for Camelford, Owen, said of the event: “A big thank you to all of the communities in and around Camelford and Delabole that kindly donated cakes and raffle prizes and those that attended to make this a successful event that raised over £1,000.”
