IT was a bumper haul of rosettes this year for Sharon Davies, of Bradworthy, when her pygmy goats took to the stage on Thursday, June 8.
Sharon Davies and her pygmy goats were delighted when it came to counting the rosettes displayed proudly on their pen as they had racked up an impressive 17.
Sharon has been attending the Royal Cornwall Show with her pygmy goats for the last 12 years, and has never missed a show.
Sharon had a number of first prizes that she was very proud of, they included: ‘Female Kid’ — Millview Kittie (with which Sharon is pictured with); ‘Goatling’ — Highfield Snicker; ‘Adult Female’, ‘Best Female’ and “Best in Show’ — Millview Gretal; ‘Veteran over 7’ and ‘Reserve Best Female’ — Larkfield Lily; ‘Dam and Daughter’ — Millview Gretal (mother) and Kittie (daughter); ‘Sire and Offspring’ and ‘Reserve Best Male’ — Gemstone Larrymar.
It was a very busy day indeed for Sharon, she said: “It was lovely, very busy in the pygmy goat tent. I steward as well so get the chance to talk to the public about the goats and promote the breed and the Pygmy Goat Club, which nationally has around 500 members now, which is great!
“I have been every year for the last 12 years and will continue to do so!”
