BUDE barber Colin Danks came out as 'cream of the crop' as he took the British Masters Classic title at Birmingham's NEC recently.

Mike Taylor, director of the organisers, The British Barbers' Association, said: "This is the ultimate accolade of British barbering, voted for by the Barbers of Britain."

With over 8,000 members across Britain and Ireland the BBA is considered the leading voice in the industry.

Colin said: "It is fantastic to win such a prestigious title, after coming so close two years ago — runner-up.

"It's especially nice to win it this year as it's my fortieth year in the profession and it means so much when you are voted for by your peers."

Founder of the Clip Joint Barbershop in Bude, Colin also spends time travelling the world, demonstrating his skills on an international stage.

He added: "My passion for the industry is still as strong today as it was when I first started out all those years ago, and it's nice to be able to give something back"

Colin is now an independent trader but is available for bookings at The Clip Joint on certain days.
