Cornwall Team Champion-ships — Bude came up against a very strong Trevose side in the semi-finals of this year's CTC championships, writes Barry Sykes. With their top handicap of +3 and the lowest just 1 the odds were stacked in their favour.

Played in wintery but pleasant conditions the foursomes went to Trevose 3½ to a ½ with the ninth man's points also going to Trevose. The singles saw a "closer" finish with 4 of the eight singles going to the 18th. green. But, alas this was then end of Bude's campaign for 2009 and the task of re charging the batteries for the 2010 KO Cups.

Hopefully the weather will warm up for one caddy in the next campaign – young Charlotte Britton had ten layers of clothing on and was still cold!!

At the end of match meal the Bude CTC Captain Llew Courtenay thanked his players and those of Trevose for a competitive day played in the true spirit of the game. Llew wished Trevose all the best in the County final where they will meet last year's winners Tehidy.
