‘ACTION Nan’ is well on her way to walking the Cornish coast path, raising thousands of pounds for the RNLI.

Pat Smith, 67, from Cornwall, started her walk on Wednesday, April 6 at Marsland, near Bude, and will cover 297 miles to Cremyll.

She will be visiting RNLI lifeboat stations on the way before finishing the trek on April 27.

Pat has previously completed a charity cycle from John O’Groats to Land’s End, and wanted to take on this latest challenge after recovering well from two hip replacements.

So far on the way, she has met lifeguards at Summerleaze and the Bude lifeboat crew and their families at the Bencoolen Inn.

Pat has since continued on to Crackington Haven, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow.

Her fundraising target is £10,000. To donate, visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ActionNan. To follow her progress, visit www.facebook.com/ActionNan or @ActionNan on Twitter.
