Residents in Stratton are calling for drivers to slow down on Stamford Hill. MP for North Cornwall, Dan Rogerson met campaigners at the site on Friday with Cornwall Councillor for Bude North and Stratton Nathan Bale. He heard that traffic speeds are high in both directions through the area, which is used as a shortcut and is backing the residents' campaign for Cornwall Council to take action. Commenting he said: "Drivers simply go too fast through this area, putting local residents and particularly children at risk. The council should assess what the best way is to slow traffic down, in close consultation with people in the area. There are obviously a number of ways it can be done — whether with speed humps, chicanes or a flashing sign to tell people when they're going too fast. Residents cannot be expected to put up with the danger for any longer."
