PLANS for the construction of 250 homes on land at Stourscombe Farm has been put out for a re-consultation of statutory stakeholders.
The proposals, by Wessex Strategic Ltd have been in the planning system for over a year, with the latest plans submitted concerning the construction of a new road going through the site.
The developer has submitted drawings and illustrations detailing how the new road will improve the local road network and demonstrated how the plans will be able to incorporate large vehicles on what is otherwise a C grade road.
However, persistent local concerns over sewage and flooding remain.
In a new objection, Mr Philip Warren wrote: “Firstly we have over the years had severe flooding and detritus coming down the streams and sewage which has meant Environment Agency and South West Water intervention and me clearing livestock from the fields as it is used for drinking, it has somewhat been mitigated from the original estate but, again happened after allowing the Withnoe estate water to be pumped over to my streams.
“This squeezes into a single track by my farm entrance, multiple low level accidents have occurred and to facilitate this extra traffic from this application and also, the new estate at Withnoe and Newton farm which has greatly increased this usage plus traffic from the Callington road taking this rat run to Lifton is now too dangerous to walk on.”
The plans can be viewed using reference PA24/02804, and Wessex Strategic Ltd have been approached for comment on their plans for Stourscombe Farm.
