THE British Heart Foundation's (BHF) annual sponsored walk at Bude on Saturday started in misty weather, but that did not deter walkers — and dogs — determined to raise money for the Mending Broken Hearts appeal. Michael Heryet, chair of Bude and Stratton Branch of the BHF, thanked all those who walked the eight miles from Crooklets, along the South West Coastal Footpath to near Bay View Inn at Widemouth, back over the fields to Whalesborough, Marhamchurch, and then along Bude Canal back to Crooklets. With some sponsorship forms still to be collected, it is hoped the total raised will be around £600.
