THE Globe Hotel in Bude held a ‘Stars in their Eyes’ event recently, raising money for the Hi-5 Talk Time Cafe.

The event raised an astounding total of £665, which will be presented to the Hi-5 Talk Time Cafe and go towards supporting children living with additional needs and their families or carers.

As well as the show, which saw performers dress up as the likes of Alice Cooper, Stevie Wonder and the Cheeky Girls, the Globe also held a cash raffle, the proceeds of which were split between the Hi-5 Talk Time Cafe and the winner, who has chosen to donate their winnings to the charity.

Steph Cornish from the Globe said: “Our Stars in Their Eyes event raised £665 and we also held a cash raffle where half went to the charity and half went to the winner of the raffle. But I do believe they will be putting the money back into the crowdfunder.

“We had 14 entries in the show overall. Nobody won as such, it was just a bit of fun. The entries dressed up as a person of their choice and put on a performance — it was a really good day.”

Steph added: “A massive thank you to all the businesses who donated raffle prizes, of which there are too many to name, and to everyone who took part. We look forward to the next one!”
