SOME brave members of staff from Budehaven School took part in a Tandem Skydive to raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
The headteacher’s PA, Clare Brown, was among the brave individuals from Budehaven who took on the challenge.
Clare said: “Four of us from school jumped at the weekend (at Perranporth) but Stu in resources is still waiting.
“We did it to raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance and it has taken nearly a year to get the weather to do it.
“This was our fifth attempt and even then we were there from 9am and I finally jumped at 6pm.
“Tom Westlake jumped at 7.30pm and then Shirley White and Mark Tootill went back yesterday and did it then”.
Clare’s grandaughter, Lowenna needed the services of the air ambulance back in 2015.
She was airlifted and taken to Truro with suspected meningitis.
Clare has a JustGiving page set up to collect donations.
On the page she wrote: ‘In mid January 2015, my little granddaughter, Lowenna, was taken poorly and had to be air lifted to Treliske Hospital, Truro, with suspected meningitis.
‘Luckily, she was given the all clear and sent home after staying the night.
If it wasn’t for the air ambulance, they would have had to wait for a road ambulance to travel the 50-mile trip to the hospital, taking up to an hour. For all the quick response and care from the Air Ambulance team, we are very grateful.
‘I feel it is a service we all need to keep running for the future of the young, old, locals and visitors, to ensure top care in emergencies such as Lowenna’s, and many more.’
So far Clare has raised around £300 of her £395 target.
