ON WEDNESDAY, October 26, fundraiser Mary Philips, from St Teath, set off on her third charity tractor ride in aid of Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulance charities.

She left St Teath, on her 1953 Field Marshall tractor, at 8am along with her partner Peter Treleaven.

Their five and a half hour journey took them from St Teath, through Wadebridge, Fraddon, and Ladock to the BBC Radio Cornwall station and finally the cattle market in Truro, where lots of supporters gathered for their arrival.

Mary said: "It was fantastic, we had lovely weather and such fabulous support."

BBC Radio Cornwall covered their journey and warned other road users of their 9mph tractor travelling the Cornish roads.

Although the amount has not been completely totalled up, they have raised over £8,000 already from this event. Mary added: "The way things are at the moment, I wasn't expecting as much as we raised, I'm so grateful for everybody's contributions."

These charity tractor rides are not the only work Mary does for Cornwall and Devon Air Ambulance, she also holds a monthly raffle in Devon were she raises around £100 a month. She also travels round numerous industrial estates and cattle markets with her sponsor form receiving donations.

Her next event is a Bingo Session being held in The Poldark Inn, Delabole on Wednesday evening, November 9.

Mary would like to thank everyone for their contributions and sponsors for these events.
