THE Linkinhorne remembrance service took place at St Melor’s church on November 13, which was well attended and led by Lay Reader Brian Norris.
Members of the 1st Linkinhorne Scout Group carried their flags in procession, which were received in the sanctuary by Lay Reader Andrew Doney.
The Union flag was carried by Isabel Cliffe, St Pirans by George Drew, explorer by Tristan Bolton, scouts by Daisy Mays, supported by ‘colour party’ Edward Wallace and Joe Franklin, cubs by Harry-Jack Haines with colour party Joshua Pierce and Alfie Crane, Beavers by Evan Oxenham with colour party Marla Grimshaw and Nathan Brokenshire.
The scout leaders present included assistant group scout leader Richard Doney, cubs and beavers Cheryl Parkinson, assistant cub scout leader Mark Mays, assistant explorer leader Gary Brokenshire and PRO Sarah Doney.
Peter Sharp read the names of the departed parishioners of the First World War and World War Two and Kim Howat read the ‘Act of Commitment’. Callum Dowd played the ‘Last Post’ on trumpet and Mark Mays laid the wreath. Lay Reader Andrew Doney gave the sermon and a reading. Scout members Richard Doney, George Drew, Joshua Pierce, Josie Mays, Byron Patrick and Gary Brokenshire led prayers.
Mark and Helen Harris, along with Roy Cooper, took the collection.
