TWO local members of St John Ambulance have began a European drive of a lifetime as they aim to help raise over £150,000 for charity.

John Lewis, from Torrington and Andrew Painter, from Holsworthy, with the support of South Molton 4x4 Specialists 'Devon 4x4', are driving 2,011 miles across Europe this month in aid of Help for Heroes as part of a 45 Team effort to raise £160,000.

Retracing the steps of Easy Company 506th PIR 101st Airborne Division during the Second World War, the 2012 Help for Heroes 4x4 European Rally will be starting at Littlecote House Hotel in Wiltshire and driving across Hitler's Fortress, Europe, with the team.
