THE preserving pans have been busy again, and the produce stall full of delicious chutneys, jams, jellies and marmalade at the recent St Breward Pickles and Preserves coffee morning.
From unctuous lemon curd to mouth tingling chilly jelly, the produce stall was plentiful with jams, jellies, marmalade, pickles and chutneys. Along with fresh produce, the varied baked goods were as popular as ever.
The kitchen, abuzz with cheerful chatter, was busy with coffees, teas and malt loaf slices being served — a good meeting place to catch up and meet new people.
Notwithstanding, the recent successful books, oddities and collectibles sale, and the bric-a-brac stall, did brisk trade, as it had been donated some fresh, interesting and useful items. The book stall was full of bargains, eagerly pounced on, and the tombola and bargain toy stall did well.
The raffle prizes were varied and tempting, so much so that tickets were being purchased right up to the last minute.
Thanks have been extended to all who helped, attended and donated. A net amount of £375 was raised for St Breward church.
