THE volunteers of St Breward Primary School PTA (Parent Teacher Association) went into overdrive on a day of events to raise money to support the school.
The day, held at St Breward Football Club, opened with the Big Breakfast, where around 150 visitors enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast including sausages, bacon, eggs with toast, fruit juice, teas and coffees also on offer.
All the cooking and serving was carried out by PTA members, but that wasn't the end of their work. Over the previous weeks they had been busy selling hundreds of tickets for the great balloon race that took place after the big breakfast. The football match, taking place at St Breward, was interrupted at half time by the launch of the balloons which made a spectacular sight as they sailed off towards the Atlantic.
