RADIANT beams were evident at St Breward recently, as a fundraising event generated a top total in aid of village hall solar panels.
Held in the village hall's bandroom, there was a variety of stalls, from the usual bric-a-brac and cakes, to clothes, CDs and not forgetting teas and coffees.
To the surprise of many, £535 was raised, which will help pay for the recently installed solar panels on the village hall roof.
St Breward Village Hall Committee treasurer Ted Raynham was almost speechless.
He said: "We made a staggering £535 at our coffee morning, which rather leaves me a bit bemused as to what to say — I am still recovering from the success of the whole thing!"
