THE Wadebridge fundraising group for Cornwall Hospice Care held its annual sponsored walk on a recent Sunday.

In spite of the horrendous forecast of torrential downpours, over 80 participants managed the three-mile walk staying relatively dry!

The walk began at Deli Farm, just outside Delabole, by kind permission of Peter and Pip Edwards.

Participants started out through areas of woodland the Edwards family have planted over the years, and then they headed over the fields to the Delabole slate quarry, continuing around the perimeter and then back to Deli Farm for tea and cakes.

The impressive sum of £2,280 was raised by sponsorship and entry fees. Thanks were extended to everyone who took part.
