THE mist covering North Cornwall on the Bank Holiday Sunday, May 26, which was also rogation Sunday, lifted in time for an encouraging number of people to travel to share in the annual rogation service at Hallworthy Market.

The spirited hymn singing was led by the St Gennys Silver Band, with Rev Bryan Ede leading the service. The lesson was read by local farmer and Methodist local preacher, Peter Parsons. Prayers were led by Bryan Parkman and Paul Harold, and the speaker was Rev Micheal Parsons.

The congregation had the added delight of two solos sung by Grace Robinson including ‘My Forever Friend’ and ‘How great thou art’. As a result of the service £189 will be forwarded to the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

The evening concluded with refreshment in the Market Café provided by Kivells and the Wilsey Down Hotel.
