LAUNCESTON Town Council will not be inviting speakers to its meetings if they are not prepared to take questions from councillors.
This proposal was put forward by Cllr Paul O’Brien, who at last week’s town council meeting, said: “To have a speaker turn up and preach at us is not a good way to spend our time.
“As far as I’m concerned, unless someone is prepared to stand and answer legitimate questions they shouldn’t be afforded the medium to stand and speak to us.”
This was agreed by the council.
