The Easter Supper organised by St. Mary's Soupermen was a resounding success. Those who attended were treated to superb food, including a scrumptious broccoli and stilton soup, Mediterranean chicken, salmon and a vegetarian 'steak' in brie and stilton sauce. New York cheesecake, Black Forest gateaux and mints with tea or coffee.

As usual, the Rev. Andrew Grace managed to make the raffle an entertainment.

The Soupermen exist to serve the community and any money raised is donated to various charities. This year's charities are Breast Cancer and PATCH. The Breast Cancer donation will take place on Sunday, May 3, during the 10 am service at St. Mary's.

There will be a film evening on Thursday, April 30, at the Church House, when the film being shown is the ever-popular Calamity Jane. Proceedings get underway at 6.30 pm when refreshments will be served. The film will start at 7 pm - all are welcome.

Looking further ahead, the church fete will take place on Thursday, July 30. Let us hope it matches last year's success.
