IT has been more than a year since the St Teath play equipment was deemed unfit for purpose and finally the area has been ‘renewed’ for local children to enjoy.
About 15 months ago, when the St Teath play equipment was found to be unfit for purpose, a group was set up to raise the substantial amount of funds needed.
The group consisted of Sarah Hewett, Emily Grey and Tracy Kitto.
The fundraiser started with an outstandingly well-supported cake sale and that support has been maintained by the public throughout the entire process.
From a Christmas present wrapping service, pop-up play on the field, parties, coffee mornings to harvest auctions, all helped towards the group’s target.
Tracy said: “We owe gratitude to Lisa Curnow for taking on the mammoth task of grant funding. This enabled us to expand our plans from a few pieces of equipment to having the entire park renewed at one time.”
Many donations have been received from individuals, groups, organisations and local businesses. Thanks are extended to all who donated.
Tracy added: “Now get out there and enjoy our amazing new park.”
