THE entrance to Enfield Park in Camelford was up for discussion at a meeting of the town council recently.
In town clerk, Esther Greig’s, report, she told the town council that the slabs and slates at the entrance of the park are ‘disintegrating’, adding that the uneven and old slabs are a ‘trip hazard’.
She told councillors: “If we’re going to repair this, this is the time to think about what we want doing. I think we should be looking at a bigger vision of having a few things done.”
Mayor of Camelford, Cllr Rob Rotchell, said: “This is long overdue for these things being completed. They are a trip hazard and the slates are breaking up as well. This would be a good chance to look at the entrance of the park as a whole.”
Reassuring some of his peers, Cllr Rotchell added: “We would be consistent, and it would be user-friendly.”
The council heard that looking into repairs of the entrance of the park would also be a chance to look at completing the bandstand. Cllr Rotchell said: “This gives us the opportunity to finish the bandstand off. All of the issues, we could do it as one hit.”
Cllr Andy Shaw, who presented some concerns, was reassured by Cllr Rotchell that they could have a separate conversation regarding the flooring.
