A MAN from Launceston undertook a skydive recently to raise funds for cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Ben Farrar has completed a skydive in order to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a charity close to his heart after his four-year-old niece Lillie was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukaemia in October 2018.

His initial aim was to raise £1,000, but donations have soared and Ben has smashed his target.

He said: “Jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane at 15,000ft seems crazy, but it was an incredible experience. My four-year-old niece was diagnosed with leukaemia last October and CLIC Sargent has been invaluable throughout her treatment.”

Over £1,400 has been raised through seven Co-op stores in Cornwall and Devon and some businesses in Launceston, with his Just Giving page achieving more than £800.

Next for Ben will be the London Marathon in April 2020, also raising money for CLIC Sargent.
