A TINTAGEL resident has called the location of a bench which over overlooks a local beauty spot "dangerous." Flora Beckford, who is nearly 70-years-old, has recently had major heart surgery and believes there to be no point in having a bench that people cannot use. She says the only way to get up onto the bank is with either a handrail or stepladder — neither practical options. Access up the wall is evidently limited to the more agile, whilst the slopes either side of the bench are tricky to ascend at best — wet conditions adding to the precariousness of the situation. "I'd love to sit up there, but there's no way (to do so)," she said. "It's difficult for anyone to get up there. You get a beautiful view from here of the coast — down to Port Isaac and Bossiney, but it (the bench) is much too high."
