THE Holsworthy Cavanna Homes’ site manager has been named one of the UK’s best housebuilders.

On September 15, Paul Whitlock of Cavanna Homes was honoured for his dedication to building homes of exceptional quality before an audience of 400 in the second round of the annual NHBC Pride in the Job Awards for his site in Holsworthy.

Now in its 37th year the awards are the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry dedicated to recognizing site managers who achieve the highest standards in house building.

Judging for the awards is rigorous, beginning in July 2016, with each site manager being assessed across 44 areas of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls in place.

Paul was selected from more than 16,000 UK site managers, and is one of 14 to be recognised at a ceremony held at Sandy Park Exeter.

Fred Sureshkumar, head of construction at Cavanna Homes, said: “Paul has done brilliantly; this was a complex project with many difficulties and he did a great job.

“We’re really excited by Paul’s achievement because it will hopefully inspire the rest of the team while boosting the company’s reputation and instilling further confidence among our homeowners and prospective homeowners.”

Commenting on the awards, Nick Cunningham, the regional director of the award organisers NHBC, said: “Every year NHBS registers over 14,000 new homes in the South West; it is site managers like Paul who play an important role in delivering these, whilst pushing up the standards of new homes, through their persistence, passion and a commitment to build homes of the highest quality for their customers and we wish them all the success in the future.”
