POLICE from Camelford recently attended a road traffic collision, on the A39 in the Allen Valley.

On Saturday, November 26 at approximately 5.30pm, police received multiple calls of a road traffic collision that had occurred on the A39.

A young male driver with no passengers was travelling along a road from the Camelford direction when, approximately a mile past Kingsmill heading towards Wadebridge, he lost control of his vehicle on a relatively straight road. The vehicle skidded and collided with the hedge on the offside of the car and overturned, landing on its roof and losing its front offside wheel completely. No other road users were involved.

Two police cars, one from Wadebridge and another from Camelford, attended the scene, along with a fire appliance from Delabole and an ambulance.

The driver was treated by paramedics at the scene with a possible head injury, and was conveyed to Treliske Hospital, Truro.

The road was completely blocked and closed by the police for a couple of hours, as they investigated the cause of the accident.

The fire brigade managed to overturn the Seat Ibiza and the vehicle was recovered from the scene by Broomfields recovery, and the road was eventually reopened for use.

Further enquiries made later at the hospital revealed that the driver had suffered minor cuts and bruises.
